About Pacific Crest Keeshond Club

Our Mission

  • To encourage and promote the quality breeding of pure-bred Keeshonden
  • To urge members and breeders to do all possible to bring the breed's natural qualities to perfection in accordance with the Standard of the breed as approved by the American Kennel Club as the only standard of excellence by which Keeshonden shall be judged
  • To do all in its power to protect and advance the welfare and interests of the breed
  • To conduct sanctioned and licensed specialty shows and obedience trials under the rules of the American Kennel Club and through the Club encourage sportsmanlike competition at dog shows and obedience trials

The Pacific Crest Keeshond Club was formed in February 1977 to support Keeshond owners and breeders across the Northwest. The first PCKC Specialty was held in 1997. 2019 is the first time PCKC has hosted a National Specialty.

In addition to regular meetings held in the greater Seattle area, PCKC hosts public educational events, microchip and tattoo ID clinics, puppy aptitude testing, grooming clinics, puppy socialization and training clinics. The Holland Happening Parade on Whidbey Island and the PCKC Fun Day are particularly popular with members and guests alike.

Rescuing abandoned or stray Keeshonden from local shelters all over the Northwest is one PCKC’s principal undertakings. For many years, “the Keeper of the Kees” has been the unofficial logo for PCKC Rescue.
